Best Episode title ever.

Because of the rail strike, the vast majority of the time today which I have not been at party conference has been or will be spent travelling.

To avoid the risk of being too tired to drive safely, however, I did stop for a meal and watched the final episode of series one of the Star Wars steaming series "Ahsoka" before finishing the journey.

It had perhaps the best Star Wars episode title ever, a wonderfully appropriate nod to C.S. Lewis:

Two minutes' silence at noon BST today to commemorate the end of World War II

Today is the 80th anniversary of the surrender of Japan. There will be VJ Day 80 commemorations to mark the anniversary of the final end of the second world war. A series of events will be held in Britain and around the world, although the USA commemorates VJ day a few days later than we do.
