Chris Whiteside: I have lived in several parts of Britain but my family roots are in the Northern UK and I returned to the region with my family in 2004.
We live at Moor Row in Cumbria but while I was working in Leeds also acquired a base in Selby, North Yorkshire.
We have family and friends all over the UK, including Yorkshire, Cumbria, Lancashire, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire. I studied at the Universities of Bristol and UEA, and have worked in London, Cumbria and Leeds.

My academic qualifications are in Economics. I worked for many years as a manager in the Telecoms industry and am now starting out as a freelance author. I have previously been a school governor, health authority member, and at various times a County, City & district, borough, town and parish councillor.
